Size Pitts S2
After many requests for a larger version of our Mini Pitts, the ¼ size Pitts was produced, using the same proven construction and setting techniques as its smaller counterpart. It has a wingspan of 60" (152.5cm) and an engine size of 90-2000. The larger Pitts has no vices as is common with many models of this type and can be flown by any average pilot. It will perform all the manoeuvres that the full size aeroplane does but the take-offs and landings can be slower than real scale speed if you wish. Its excellent low speed handling and aerobatic capability allow it to be flown in calm or gale-force conditions alike.
The quality of flying is built into the moulded parts. The kit is quick to build - the moulded undercarriage bolts on, as do the inner and outer bulkheads and servo trays. The plastic outer struts have replaceable plastic thread inserts which click into the struts and are mounted in the wing by means of a threaded nut. Wingtips are included as flat moulded skeletons which are built up with balsa wood fillets. The moulded centre cabane struts are bolted on through holes drilled in the fuselage and are secured with tapered wedges to compensate for the radius of the fuselage, and plastic threaded nuts. Other plastic parts include wing bolts, aileron connector locators, nuts, rudder horns, elevator horns, tail wheel bracket, undercarriage fixing bars and spacers. A white fibreglass fuselage and cowling, foam veneer wings, undercarriage wire, pre-cut tailplane assembly, various other balsa parts and a PVC bubble canopy are among the larger parts which complete the kit. Plan and instructions are included. See the attached kit review, featured in the Radio Control Scale Aircraft Magazine. Pricing¼ Size Pitts kit price: £180.00 Courier Delivery (UK): £19.00
